About Us

Doctrine of tampa bay tamil church

The church is the community of believers who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. In continuity with the people of God in Old Testament times, we are called out from the world; and we join together for worship, for fellowship, for instruction in the Word, for the celebration of the Lord’s Supper, for service to all mankind, and for the worldwide proclamation of the gospel. The church derives its authority from Christ, who is the incarnate Word, and from the Scriptures, which are the written Word. The church is God’s family; adopted by Him as children, its members live on the basis of the new covenant. The church is the body of Christ, a community of faith of which Christ Himself is the Head. The church is the bride for whom Christ died that He might sanctify and cleanse her. At His return in triumph, He will present her to Himself a glorious church, the faithful of all the ages, the purchase of His blood, not having spot or wrinkle, but holy and without blemish

What We Believe

At Tampa bay Tamil church, we hold firm to a set of core beliefs that shape our faith and guide our community. We believe in the authority and inspiration of the Bible, recognizing it as the divinely inspired Word of God that provides wisdom, guidance, and truth for all aspects of life. Our faith rests on the foundation of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, acknowledging His sacrificial death and resurrection as the means of forgiveness and eternal life.

We are passionate about fulfilling our purpose as a church and making a positive impact in our community and beyond. We gather together regularly for worship, prayer, and teaching, seeking to grow in our relationship with God and deepen our understanding of His Word. We foster a sense of belonging and fellowship, providing opportunities for meaningful connections and mutual support within our church family.

History Of Tampa Bay Tamil Church

Early 2010

Few families and existing long standing members (Mr. Babu Muniswamy family & Mr. Henderson Yesudhas & family) organized prayer sessions initially at Mr. Babu‘s home and later in other homes to worship God in our Mother Tongue (Tamil). As more families joined this group, we came together under the name TAMPA TAMIL CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP and created our website & email.

May 2014

As we were growing, we registered this organization under Division of Corporation Florida State (SunBiz) with 5 Directors. We rented out a church building, First United Church of Tampa, and worshiped the Lord once a month.

September 2016

We moved to St. James Methodist Church in Tampa and increased our worship service frequency to twice a month, along with a   Communion service. Pastor Mano volunteered to lead our worship. During this period Interim management committee was formed and Constitutions & Bylaws were adopted. Also, we had obtained 501(c)(3) (Charitable Organizations) for Tax exemption benefits for our church.

March 2017

We, with our 15 families, decided to worship every week and changed our church name to TAMPA BAY TAMIL CHURCH. We had also moved from St James Methodist Church to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. All TBTC families contributed a big role in starting the Worship Team, Children’s Sunday school, Women’s Prayer, All Night Prayer, Bible Discussion, Women’s Anointing Prayer, VBS, etc.

March 2018 to Present

From 2018 onwards, we started celebrating Church Anniversary. Pastor Mano continued to lead worship until October 2020. After he left, Pastor Jacob Muthu & Pastor Maniram have agreed to serve our church and Pastor. Edward Sigamani also joined recently.
